Being in a relationship, especially a loving one can be sometimes overwhelming. It is especially difficult when one person in the relationship is giving all the loving and the other is simply receiving. If you are the one always doing the giving, you may sometimes find yourself torn between staying and walking away. A life without the person you love can sometimes seem more difficult than living with a love that is not reciprocated. You are left wondering on love dignity, which one can you live without?
Factors to consider when making a choice between love and dignity
Which one is more important to you?
It would be perfect if you did not have to make a choice between the two. In fact, life would be much easier if such hard choices did not exist but unfortunately, at some point in your life, you have to choose one of two things which are good for you. If you are given the choice between love and dignity, which one would, you choose to forego?
Are you happy in the relationship?
Sometimes you can find a lot of pressure from outsiders who think you are too complacent in your relationship especially one where love dignity is a compromise you need to make. Many people believe that you should have both love and dignity in a relationship but without one; it is actually possible to be happy. So if you are truly happy in a relationship where your dignity is compromised, then maybe you are better off with that relationship than without it.
Does your partner make you feel loved?
It is easy to stay in a relationship where you are the only one doing the giving because you feel your partner has some degree of affection for you. However if there is no love lost from the person you love, it may be best to walk away with your love dignity intact. Sometimes it is best to remain alone that to be lonely in a relationship.
Is walking away today better than doing it tomorrow?
Sometimes it is inevitable that a relationship will end. It is just a matter of time. Imagine how awful you would feel if you know you should have walked away from a relationship yesterday but end up doing it years later? Would you not feel you wasted your time? Sometimes it is best to rate your relationship today and make the right decision instead of waiting.
